| BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTIONS 2020
Although nominations were received in January from members wishing to stand for election to the MIoD Board of Directors, the Interim Board decided on February to postpone the election process and inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) until July 2020, to enable ongoing revisions to governance and support from our partners (UK DFID, Australia Aid and the IFC) which were intended to result in a new relationship with effect from 1 July 2020. The COVID-19 situation means that this revision of the relationship is delayed. We, therefore, intend to proceed with the AGM as soon as possible. The date and modalities for the AGM are still being finalised, in view of COVID-19 related restrictions. Information on this will be sent to members in May 2020.
As we have seven candidates standing for the Board, more than six seats that are available, there will be a pre-AGM voting process to identify the six individuals who will be appointed at the AGM. Their profiles are here.
According to the MIoD Policy on Nominations and Appointments of Directors, new appointments shall be for a period of two years to the second annual general meeting of the Director’s term. All of the Interim Directors currently serving on the MIoD Board shall remain for a period of at least one more year, thereby instituting a form of “staggering” of the Board.
